Congrats to both the JV and Freshman teams for closing out their seasons with wins over Skyline! GO EAGLES!!!

Posted October 28th, 4:05 pm

Tonight is our last big game of the season at Skyline! Please come out and make your voices heard cheering on our Eagles!! This will be the last time many of our seniors ever don a football jersey and take the field. Many players have come and gone over the years, but the core of this group will remain brothers far into the future. We hope you take it all in, either as parents, fans or players - from the crisp night air of leaving the locker room, the sound of cleats on concrete marching to the field and to the last whistle. “When the game is over I just want to look at myself in the mirror, win or lose, and know I gave it everything I had.” ~ Joe Montana ...

Big news for one of our alums, Andrew Dieken, 2014, in a huge Chapman University win over defending conference champs, La Verne: "Sophomore Andrew Dieken forced the fumble that the Panthers pounced on and was one of four Panthers with at least 1.5 tackles for loss." Congrats Andrew, your Issaquah football family is so happy that all your hard work is paying off, we have huge Eagle Pride for you! We hope you are all ready to celebrate our SENIORS tomorrow night before the Homecoming Game. The senior presentation starts promptly at 6:25 p.m. so get out and grab your seats early! If you are a senior mom, remember your jersey, for the rest of you fans - tomorrow's game is a black-out! Hopefully, that is not in the literal sense and we still have the lights on! The weather looks like we may have a break at game time and the match up with Bothell looks to be a good one as the Cougars are 2-2 in KingCo action. Go Eagles! Let's everyone have a fun and safe Homecoming Weekend!! ...

CALL TO ACTION!!! Football Boosters – Tonight at the Booster club meeting (6:30 IHS library, 1st item on the agenda), there will be an important discussion about the Snap Raise program. Please plan on attending to have your voice heard. The Snap Raise program, although not a perfect fundraising vehicle, currently brings in over half of the income that the Football Boosters have for the current season. We raised over $20k this year to fund valuable equipment, scholarships, financial aid, etc…. for the program. As you may or may not know – the Football team does NOT benefit from the tickets to get into the game (WIAA gets that $), the concessions (DECA club gets $$) and the spirit wear sold on Friday nights (regular Boosters get $$$). We have done our best to raise additional funds for the Football program through any means legally possible. In lieu of an auction this year, we had our first ever “Tuesday Night Flights for Friday Night Lights” event, we have beaten the pavement selling 50/50 Raffle tickets, reached out to the Issaquah Business community for sponsorships among other things. It takes a lot of $$ to gear up our team for the games. Did you know the players wear right around $1k in equipment for every game? We need our Snap Raise dollars to help fund the program we love. Please come (and come early) to the Regular Booster club meeting tonight. The Football voice needs to be heard! Thanks you for your continued support! ...
